Soil Physical Properties; Balancing Oxygen and Water

The maintenance of healthy turf requires a basic understanding of plant biology. The plant must have access to food, water, and oxygen. Soil physics focuses on maintaining an adequate supply of water and oxygen in the soil. An inadequate supply of water is rarely a problem; however, oxygen is a depleting resource that must be constantly replenished from the atmosphere. This seminar begins with the basics of soil structure and its impact on O2 and water in the soil and moves into real world issues and solutions.
